Nexgard Chewables for Small Dogs – Orange Pack 4-10 lbs (2-4kg)
Giving your dog their flea and tick treatment is now a real delight with revolutionary NexGard!
Expiry date: 12/2026
Brand: Nexgard
From the makers of Frontline is NexGard, a flea and tick killer that truly is one of a kind. Using a brand new ingredient, afoxolaner, it works quickly and effectively to treat and keep fleas and ticks at bay. NexGard is also a hit with dogs because it’s the first flea and tick treatment to come in a delicious beef flavored chew which dogs love to eat.
Upon consumption, NexGard is rapidly absorbed into your dog’s bloodstream and begins to attack any flea and tick’s central nervous system as well as preventing them from laying any eggs. NexGard is excreted through your dog’s metabolism so they are consistently protected for 30 days.
NextGard is FDA approved and highly recommended by vets and can be taken in conjunction with heartworm treatments. NextGard is clean and easy to administer so you no longer have to rely on messy topical applications, giving you peace of mind knowing that your dog has received and consumed the treatment they require and are fully protected from nasty fleas and ticks.
Description
Nexgard for Small Dogs – Orange Pack 4-10 lbs (2-4kg)
Protect your small dog from fleas and ticks with NexGard for Small dogs, a vet-recommended, FDA-approved monthly chew designed specifically for dogs weighing 4 to 10 lbs.
These soft, beef-flavoured Chewables start working fast—killing adult fleas before they can lay eggs and providing powerful protection against ticks. NexGard for small dogs is also approved to help reduce the risk of Lyme disease by eliminating black-legged ticks.
Each tasty chew offers full 30-day protection and is easy to give, with or without food. Loved by dogs and trusted by veterinarians, NexGard makes parasite protection simple and stress-free.
Uses: Nexgard for Small Dogs
NexGard contains afoxolaner, an active ingredient that is absorbed into your dog’s bloodstream after the chew is given. When fleas and ticks feed on treated dogs, afoxolaner disrupts their nervous system, leading to rapid elimination.
NexGard is intended for dogs and puppies 8 weeks of age and older, weighing at least 4 lbs.
Not suitable for cats.

FAQ’s: Nexgard for Small Dogs
Q. How do NexGard (afoxolaner) Chewables Work?
NexGard Chewables contain afoxolaner, which is quickly absorbed into your dog’s bloodstream after administration. When fleas or ticks feed on a treated dog, they ingest afoxolaner, which overstimulates their nervous system and results in their elimination.
Q. What does NexGard kill?
NexGard is formulated to effectively eliminate fleas and ticks for a full month. It kills fleas before they can lay eggs and targets black-legged ticks early, helping reduce the risk of Lyme disease transmission.
Q. How fast does NexGard kill fleas?
In controlled laboratory studies, NexGard began killing fleas within four hours of administration and achieved over 99% effectiveness within eight hours.
Q. Why am I still seeing fleas on my dog after using NexGard?
Visible adult fleas represent only about 5% of the total flea population. The remaining 95% exists in the environment as eggs, larvae, and pupae, often in places where pets rest or roam.
You may notice newly emerging fleas jumping onto your dog from infested surroundings. These fleas are quickly killed by NexGard before they can reproduce. Depending on environmental conditions and infestation severity, new fleas may be seen for several weeks or even a few months. Consistent monthly use year-round is essential to fully break the flea life cycle.
Q. Is there a weight or age requirement to give my dog NexGard?
NexGard is approved for dogs and puppies 8 weeks of age or older, weighing at least 4 pounds.
Q. How long does a dose of NexGard last & how often should I treat my dog?
Each NexGard Chew provides one full month of protection. For continuous flea and tick control, your dog should receive one chew every month throughout the year.
Q. Can I start treating my dog with NexGard at any time during the year?
Yes, NexGard treatment can be started at any time of the year, based on your dog’s exposure risk and your veterinarian’s advice.
Q. Does NexGard need to be used even if I have an “Indoor dog”?
Yes. Fleas and ticks can still pose a risk to indoor dogs. Fleas can enter homes on clothing or other pets and quickly spread throughout living spaces. Once inside, they can lay eggs in carpets, furniture, and flooring, leading to ongoing infestations. Regular monthly protection helps keep indoor dogs safe.
Q. Is NexGard safe?
NexGard has been widely studied in laboratory and real-world clinical trials and is trusted by veterinarians worldwide. It is one of the most commonly prescribed flea and tick preventatives for dogs, with extensive use supporting its effectiveness and safety when used as directed.
Q. How do I give NexGard to my dog and what do I do if they spit it up?
NexGard may be given with or without food. Make sure your dog consumes the entire chew and observe them briefly afterward. If part of the dose is lost or if vomiting occurs within two hours, administer another full chew. If a dose is missed, give NexGard® as soon as possible and continue with the monthly schedule.
Q. What sizes and options is NexGard available in?
NexGard is available in 1-, 3-, or 6-pack options and in four weight-specific sizes:
-
